Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is a mosque of the Sultanate of Aceh, which was built by Sultan Iskandar Muda Mahkota Alam in the year 1022 H / 1612 AD The building is beautiful and magnificent which is similar to the Taj Mahal in India is located right in the heart of the city of Banda Aceh and became the focal point of all activities The Aceh Darussalam.


When the Dutch attacked the Sultanate of Aceh on the second Dutch military aggression on the Moon Safar 1290 AH / 10 April 1873 AD, Masjid Raya Baiturrahman burned. Later, in 1877 the Dutch rebuild the Masjid Baiturrahman to attract attention and reduce anger Nations Aceh.
